For our second entry in the Incu weekends series, we explored a lake that is both close to home (If you're home's in Sydney that is) and a world away. Just a short drive from Sydney City (or a 45 minute ride if you're bicycley inclined) is the Manly Dam lake. Surrounded by over 375 hectares of lush forest, waterfalls and a series of different trails to explore we advise you pack plenty of sustenance to eat along the way.
We hiked from the main lake entrance into the bush and followed the lakes edge, after 45 minutes we reached a small water hole and waterfall, stopped for a quick bite to eat and a freezing cold refreshing swim.
We continued along the circuit trail and came across some incredible mountain biking trails, more waterfalls, and a whole lot of black swans.
On our next visit, we’d love to take to the water in kayaks or try our hand at jet skiing. There’s plenty of both at this lake. Check here for more info on how to get there and what to do.
