With London Fashion week in full swing, Australian designers have skipped the flight, staying in town instead to promote the domestic industry. And this week it was all about celebrating the country's most prolific designers, launching The Australian Walk of Style in Paddington, Sydney.
Immortalising a selection of Australian designers brass plaques have been laid along Oxford Street, right beside our INCU store celebrating the Paddington area for its fashion heritage (and look at us right in the thick of it!)
The spotlight was off international labels allowing our home-grown designers to shine on Tuesday night as we were there to cheer on our fellow-collegues at the launch of the `Walk of Style' honour.
Rubbing shoulders with fashionistas Erin McNaught and US Model Dree Hemingway, we were inabsolute bliss, celebrating the Australian fashion family we are so honoured to be apart of.
Next time you're in our Paddington store, take a detour via The Intersection, to check out the shiny new plaques.

Colorful designer Gary Bigeni put together a window in our City Women's store last week to welcome in the new collection from his label Bigeni Basics.
The AW12 collection is rich in soft, luxurious fabrics and features the unmistakable Bigeni stripe prints. Some of our favourite pieces from the range include the Zanita Dress, the Joan Shirt in navy stripe and the Camel Newson Knitted Pull Over.

The extraordinary Miss Erykah Badu lead a sermon in soul at the Sydney Opera House last night. Opening her 90 minute set with '20 Feet Tall' the first track from her most recent album 'New Amerykah Part 2' she commanded the cavernous concert hall like only a true (dare we say it) diva could.
There's something truly special about seeing an artist of Badu's calibre in such a majestic and culturally important venue; with everyone from Beirut to Bjork gracing the main stage in years past. By Badu's second track the crowd was out of their seats, by the encore they were dancing in the isles. It was a night of powerful words, ideas and conversation with Badu delivering decade old lyrics that still remain relevant today, discussing occupation, land rights and her own imaginings of a third and fourth world war; it was certainly a show that we think left fans not only entertained, but enlightened to the fundamentals of Baduizum.
Take a look at a short vid we snapped on the night.
Just to prove the ever conscious label Apolis thinks of every detail when making clothes. They have collaborated with the Californian based board short company Katin. Going one step further, for their quest for authenticity, they invited the original 82 year old tailor of the company Sato Hughes to help create these unique board shorts. Details like a right side flap pocket with a key loop, and a draw string robe fastener are primary examples on how Apolis has got you covered for any occasion. Shop now.

Over the past few years, our friends at Portable have been responsible for bringing some of the best and most inspiring creatives from around the world to our shores in their series of Portable talks.
This month, we're excited to be attending Portable Presents Product Design 2012. A two hour salon style presentation exploring the complexities of conceiving, designing and launching online products to an international market. Speakers include Leni Mayo (99designs), Shainiel Deo (Halfbrick) and Simon Goodrich the Co-Founder of Portable.
Specially curated for creative audiences, we think you'll leave feeling inspired, challenged and motivated. The best part about Portable talks, is that you can guarantee the best conversations happen after the event - usually at the local over a couple of cold drinks.
The talks will be visiting Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne from Feb 14th.

This week our buyers braved the European winter to see some of their favourite continental collections. First up was Paul Smith in London, the showroom of the quirky British label is always an exciting first stop of the trip. Known for it's classic shirting, bold patterns and range of colourful acessories we love the mix of British sophistication and downtown tounge and cheek that comes through in the range.
Next, our buyers head to the city of lights to see the best of Acne, APC and more. Check back for the next behind the buy feature, coming soon.
